Welcome To Lisburn Volunteer Centre

Supporting People, Community & Environment

Who can become a volunteer? You can! To volunteer you don't need loads of qualifications or experience, all you need is a couple of spare hours a week. People of all ages and abilities are becoming involved in volunteering within the Lisburn City Council area and you can join them.

You may be a young person wishing to gain valuable experience to enhance your C.V. and improve your employability, or an adult thinking about a career change and wishing to experience other roles before making a decision.

You could be a retired person wishing to share your skills and experience with others and learn new skills yourself, or you could have a favourite charity you wish to support. In fact, you could be anyone who wishes to meet new people, gain new skills and have fun.

People volunteer because they get great satisfaction from the results of their efforts, and can clearly see the difference they've been able to make within their community.

Lisburn Volunteer Centre offers a wide range of quality volunteering opportunities. Currently these include working with:

- Children - Young people - Older people - People with physical/learning difficulties -
- Advice and information services - Women's projects - Community projects -
- Charity shops - Environmental projects - Befriending schemes - Mentoring projects -
- Animal care - Substance abuse -

At Lisburn Volunteer Centre we are always working to develop new and interesting volunteer opportunities, but if you have a particular opportunity in mind please tell us about it, we would be happy to explore the possibilities and provide you with what ever options are available!

Lisburn Volunteer Centre also offers support and guidance to Volunteer Involving Organisations, we administer the Community Volunteering Scheme Small Grant (CVS) which can provide small community groups with sums of up to £1,000.00 to help with volunteer expenses or project running costs.

So if you want to find out more about Volunteering or you are a Volunteer Involving Organisation in need of support or funding pick up a phone today and call 028 9266 8740, email info@volunteer-lisburn.org or just drop in and chat to Annette.

You can also visit the Volunteer Centres Northern Ireland website where you can check out all the volunteering opportunities in your area and register on line to become a volunteer.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
