Our joinery workshop produces quality
handmade items such as bird tables, memorial benches, window boxes,
garden planters, etc, while also providing a suitable environment
for those requiring additional support and training prior to entering
full time employment.
Our trainees include volunteers,
individuals on the 'New Deal' programme and those serving Community
Service Orders, all supervised by a fully qualified joiner providing
instruction in furniture making and restoration.
Furniture Restoration
Established in 2004 thanks to grant
funding through Lisburn Partnership, we operate a social economy
business carrying out furniture restoration.
VSL have always been actively involved
in the recycling of unwanted items such as paper and bottles, however
we could now extend this to recycle unwanted household items such
as furniture otherwise have been destined for landfill.
We collect, restore and resell these
items at a fraction of high street prices, providing a valuable
community resource for families and individuals on benefits or with
low income.
